A Heron wishes it were a Pelican; this heron fishes at the Mill Pond in suburban Bracknell, Berkshire. It frequently catches fish that turn out to be too big for it to swallow, and which it has to leave for the crows, magpies and gulls to finish off.
The anglers who also fish in this small lake, as do terns, great crested grebes and cormorants, are no doubt not amused by these depredations. But since the angling club is called the "Bracknell Herons" they have to grin and bear it!
